Important News

------

The 2024 assessment notices were mailed on Thursday, March 28th to Cedar Rapids property owners whose assessment has changed since last year, informing them of the January 1, 2024 assessment.

For property owners who believe their assessment is not a reflection of market value, you have two options:

INFORMAL REVIEW:  This is an opportunity for you to review your parcel with one of our appraisers, possibly arriving at an agreed-upon value.  Informal reviews will be conducted from Tuesday, April 2, 2024, through Thursday, April 25, 2024.  If an informal review is conducted on your parcel, you still have the option to file a formal protest to the Cedar Rapids Board of Review. We highly recommend property owners contact our office as soon as possible to ensure timely processing of these requests.

FORMAL APPEAL:  Property owners may file a formal property assessment appeal with the Cedar Rapids Board of Review between April 2, 2024, through and including April 30, 2024. In the event April 30th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, protests filed or postmarked by the following Monday shall be considered to have been timely filed.  Paperwork may be submitted via email at crassessor@cedar-rapids.org.
